    2018 Nissan Leaf

Lot of websites now showing photos of the new model due out early next year in Europe. Looks to have 235 miles range (probably NEDC figures) and then around 12-18 months later a optional higher capacity battery pack bringing range to 310 miles. Those figures are pretty much identical to the Tesla Model 3 - on paper at least.

What's interesting to note is that one article said that the smaller battery pack will be 40kWh and is the same physical size as the 30kWh released in 2015. That was the same physical size as the 24kWh released in 2010, so decent progress has definitely been made in the last 7 years.

Unfortunately only a 40kwh battery and less than 150 miles EPA range vs a 55kwh battery and 220 miles range for base Tesla so nowhere near I'm afraid. And only 50kw
Rapid charging vs 120+kw supercharging for the Tesla.

Having recently acquired my third Leaf I'm not really in the market for the 2018 model just yet. It's looking good though... https://www.nissan.co.uk/vehicles/ne...leaf-2018.html
Now on Leaf #3, a Magnetic Red Tekna 30kWh/6.6kW collected 26 May 2017. Charged using Economy 7 Green Electricity + Car tariff from Ecotricity and PV power on sunny days. Rolec EV WP1140 32 amp charging point. Averaging approximately 750 miles per month.
